Dylan Revisited - Only A Pawn In Their Game
Fifty years ago today, in 1968, Martin Luther King was planning a national occupation of Washington, D.C., to be called the Poor People's Campaign, when he was assassinated by James Earl Ray in Memphis, Tennessee.
Five years earlier, on Wednesday, August 28, 1963, the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, the March on Washington, or The Great March on Washington, was held in Washington, D.C. The purpose of the march was to advocate for the civil and economic rights of African Americans. At the march, Martin Luther King Jr., standing in front of the Lincoln Memorial, delivered his historic "I Have a Dream" speech in which he called for an end to racism.
Bob Dylan was there too, as a part of the event, and sang Only A Pawn In Their Game.
Today we choose this song to be our Video of the Day, by Dylan tribute band 'Dylan Revisited'.
