George Harrison - If Not For You

Donald 'Duck' Dunn would be 76 years old today if still alive. Donald was born on 24 November 1941; he passed away on 13 May 2012. Dunn played with Dylan twice. The first time was when Dunn played bass at the final recordings for Dylan’s Shot Of Love album.

Dunn later appeared with Booker T. & the M.G.’s as the house band for the Bob Dylan 30th Anniversary Concert Celebration at New York’s Madison Square Garden on October 16, 1992. For the finale, G.E. Smith, Al Kooper, Stan Lynch, Jim Keltner, and the M.G.’s (Booker T. Jones, Steve Cropper, Dunn, and Anton Fig) backed Dylan, Neil Young, Eric Clapton, Tom Petty, Roger McGuinn, and George Harrison on “My Back Pages,” and then Dylan and the entire crew on “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door.” Footage of rehearsals for “It Takes A Lot To Laugh” and “My Back Pages” also circulate among collectors.

You can See Donald in this clip, with George Harrison and others performing If Not For You on the soundcheck of the Bobfest, 2 takes, at the Madison Square Garden, NYC.
