Roger McGuinn's Thunderbyrd - Golden Loom
Roger McGuinn was born 75 years ago in Chicago, IL on July 13 1942. Still using the name Jim McGuinn he was a founding member of the Byrds in 1964. He is best known for being the lead singer and lead guitarist on many of the Byrds' records. Their debut single Dylan’s Mr. Tambourine Man became the first folkrock smash hit, reaching number 1 in both the US and UK singles charts. After the break-up of The Byrds in 1973 McGuinn released several solo albums throughout the 1970s. Throughout his career, both with The Byrds and solo he recorded many Dylan covers. Roger is still actively touring both in the USA and abroad.
